Non-Professional Data Agreement

Summary

Before accessing your MegaTrader trading account on any supported platform (including Project X, Tradovate, and NinjaTrader), you must complete the Non-Professional Data Agreement. This agreement is required by futures exchanges to activate live market data. Without it, your trading account will not display real-time pricing and may remain inactive.


Why This Agreement Is Required

All major futures exchanges, such as those under CME Group, require traders to be classified as either professional or non-professional users of market data. This classification determines your eligibility and the fee structure for live data.

Most MegaTrader users qualify as non-professional traders. However, the exchanges mandate that all users must complete a Non-Professional Data Agreement before data access can be granted on any platform.

This applies to all platforms supported by MegaTrader, including:

  • Project X

  • Tradovate

  • NinjaTrader

Completing this agreement is required regardless of whether you’re in an evaluation phase or a Sim Funded account.


Where to Sign the Agreement

To sign the agreement, log in to the trading platform assigned to you through your MegaTrader dashboard.

For Project X Users:
If you’re using Project X, the agreement process is triggered automatically during your initial setup. You will be guided through a brief verification form when accessing the platform for the first time. If you do not see this prompt, contact support to have it re-issued.

For Tradovate Users:

  1. Log in using your MegaTrader-issued credentials

  2. Look for a pop-up prompt requesting you to complete the Non-Professional Data Agreement

  3. If you do not see it, go to Application Settings > Agreements or Data Access

For NinjaTrader Users:
The agreement is triggered as part of the data feed setup process. When you add your MegaTrader-assigned data connection (e.g., CQG or Tradovate) into NinjaTrader and attempt to connect, the platform will check if your Non-Professional Data Agreement is complete.

If not, you will:

  • Be redirected to a web-based form hosted by the data provider (such as CQG)

  • Or see a prompt within NinjaTrader asking you to sign the declaration

Once submitted, your live data access will be activated.


What the Agreement Includes

When filling out the agreement, you’ll be asked to confirm that:

  • You are not registered with a financial regulatory body (e.g., SEC, FINRA, CFTC)

  • You do not manage third-party capital or provide financial services

  • You will use the platform for personal trading purposes only

  • You will not redistribute or resell any market data

Once submitted, your data access will typically be activated within a few minutes.
