Why is My TradingView and Tradovate Connection Failing ?

Common issues and solutions.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Summary

If you're experiencing trouble connecting TradingView to your Tradovate account through MegaTrader, it's often due to credential issues, account setup steps being skipped, or platform settings. Here's how to troubleshoot and fix the most common problems.

1. Make Sure You're Using the Correct Credentials

Ensure you’re logging into https://trader.tradovate.com/welcome using the credentials provided in your MegaTrader dashboard. These credentials are not your personal Tradovate login, but the ones issued to you for MegaTrader access.

2. Sign the Non-Professional Data Agreement

Before using any third-party platform, including TradingView, you must first log in to Tradovate and sign the Non-Professional Data Agreement. This is required to activate market data permissions.

3. Activate the TradingView Add-On in Tradovate

From your Tradovate account, go to Application Settings > Add-ons and make sure the TradingView Add-On is enabled. Without this, the connection cannot be established.

4. Connect Correctly Through TradingView

In TradingView:

  • Go to the Broker section

  • Choose Tradovate from the list

  • Enter the provided MegaTrader Tradovate credentials

If the login fails, double-check that the data agreement is signed and the add-on is enabled.

5. Connection Timing or Session Expiry

Sometimes connections fail due to:

  • Session timeouts

  • Browser/device cache issues

  • Attempting to connect before account activation is complete

Try refreshing your browser, logging out of all platforms, and logging back in.

Still Need Help?

If none of the above resolves the issue, contact [email protected] or use live chat in your portal. Be ready to share:

  • A screenshot of the error message

  • Confirmation that you've signed the agreement and enabled the add-on.
